A John Deere Tractor is a tractor made by Deere & Company. John Deere Tractors are the top selling brand of tractor in the world. John Deere Tractors come in six different kind of tractors; Agricultural, Commercial, Construction, Forestry, Golf & Turf and Residential.

The word comes from the Latin trahere "to pull". A conflicting history of the name suggests that steam tractors were originally referred to as traction engines, with the word "tractor" eventually deriving from a contraction of 'traction' and 'motor'.
